Both love soccer and reflect any glory on to God

What do Pope Francis and the Balon d'Or recipient Leo Messi have in common? They're both Argentines, and throughout the course of their (very different) lives, a profound humility – a humility that explains their greatness.

They both have a passion for football (i.e., soccer). Francis is a fan of San Lorenzo de Almagro – an Argentine football club, which at one point presented then-Cardinal Bergoglio with a plaque commemorating the team's centennial. He has posed with the team's insignia on prior occasions, which wears the same blue and burgundy of Messi's FC Barcelona.

And, every time he scores a goal, Messi looks up toward heaven in an act of thanksgiving. It would seem that both these man play for the same team.
