WASHINGTON, DC - FEBRUARY 20: Ushers guide the casket during the funeral Mass for Associate Justice Antonin Scalia at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception February 20, 2016 in Washington, DC. Scalia, who died February 13 while on a hunting trip in Texas, layed in repose in the Great Hall of the Supreme Court on Friday and his funeral service will be at the basillica today. In the Homily delivered by Scalia's son, Father Paul Scalia, he stated “God blessed Dad as is well known with a love for his country...he knew well what a close run thing the founding of our nation was and he saw in that founding, as did the founders themselves, a blessing ...a blessing quickly lost when faith is banned from the public square or when we refuse to bring it there...he understood that there was no conflict between loving God and loving one’s country, between one’s faith and one’s public service.” Photo by Doug Mills
