The Ukrainian B&B Project brings together the bayan and the bandura in a unique performance.
The B&B Project puts traditional Ukrainian instruments to a new use. They make the bandura (a plucked string instrument that is halfway between a harp and a lute) and the button accordion (not the one better known in the Mediterranean, which includes a piano-like keyboard) suitable for almost any musical genre, from rock n’ roll to baroque music. In the video above, Tatyana Mazur (on the bandura) and Sergei Shamrai (on the accordion) share their unique performance of the “Summer” concerto from Vivaldi’s best known work, “The Four Seasons.”
