A chilling rendering of the world without ice

What would our planet look like if all the ice melted?Business Insider Science put together this video to show how the continental coasts might change if all of the ice on earth melted.

The water levels would rise roughly 216 feet, devastating many of the major coastal cities, where almost half of the world population lives.

Last year, Bill Nye also made a video on this topic, in which he goes into more detail about the process. Strangely enough, he says melting icebergs would not raise the water level, since their masses are already displacing water at sea. The biggest threat comes from land glaciers.
