His stolen funds came back sixfold.Owen Shylkofski is an 8-year-old boy who cares about his community. When a terrible house fire left his neighbors homeless, he wanted to help in any way he could; he immediately set up a lemonade stand, earmarking all the profits for his neighbors.

Owen, who dreams of one day becoming a police officer, was crushed when the funds were stolen. His grandmother explained to Fox news that “[Owen] was very proud of what he had done.”

He shared his disappointment on Facebook, only to discover that the same charitable instinct that had led him to start the lemonade stand lived in the hearts of other members of his community.

People started coming from all around to visit his lemonade stand, and to donate to his worthy cause. To Owen’s delight his customers included almost two dozen police officers, who surprised Owen with a monetary donation.

They also gave him a chance to wear a trooper hat, let him sit in a police cruiser and run the sirens, and thanked him for his outstanding citizenship, FOX 29 reported.

Since the loss of his original $50, Owen has raised more than $300 to help his neighbors.
