What children’s art can teach us about ourselves

Why do we think those stick figures deserve a spot on the fridge?Children’s art is rarely technically proficient and doesn’t even attempt to accurately produces reality. Yet we plaster our refrigerators with children’s art and send it off as gifts to doting grandparents, confident that it will be gratefully received.

So why do adults go so overboard for children’s art? This video suggests that whether we realize it or not, we see in our kids’ artistic endeavors a part of ourselves that we have lost as adults — a part that might just be worth retrieving.
