Her delight over her first steps is sure to make you smile.Maya may be four years old, but until now she had never taken a step on her own. Born with cerebral palsy, Maya could walk only with the help of a walker, but the corrective spinal procedure she recently underwent was designed to get her walking in 12 months. Maya did even better than that, taking her first independent steps just seven weeks after her treatment.
Her joyous reaction to walking on her own is as innocent and childlike as she is, and it’s sure to make you smile.
