Not every teen is so selfless, but not every teen is Jeremiah Thomas. What happens when the Make-A-Wish Foundation reaches out to a terminally ill 16-year-old boy? Watch this video to learn about Jeremiah Thomas, who wished to end abortion. His greatest desire is not that he may be healed, but that others may live.

The youngest of 13 children in a homeschooling family, Jeremiah played football like his four older brothers. His career was promising, as an all-star and state champion, but was cut short in March 2018 when he was diagnosed with an aggressive and horribly painful bone cancer.

“I can still preach from a wheelchair,” he said, after losing the use of his legs.

When Make-A-Wish offered him any one wish, he chose a phone call with the governor of Texas, where 68 percent of the population is pro-life, to ask him to abolish abortion in that state. The call was videotaped and shared on social media.

“Your wish,” Texas Governor Greg Abbott told Jeremiah, “is on the Republican party platform position and that’s what we’re going to be pursuing this next legislative session and that is to outlaw abortion altogether in the state of Texas. And so your wish is granted.”

Jeremiah is still fighting for his life and for the lives of the unborn. His courage and selflessness in the face of excruciating suffering continue to inspire hearts and change minds as his story spreads.
