The fires in California are too big and numerous to control. While the historic wildfires in California rage and spread, a video has emerged of a woman braving the roads to bring her family out of danger. With fire on both sides of the road pluming smoke enough to blot out the sun, Brynn Chatfield, began to pray:

“Heavenly Father, please help us. Please help us to be safe. I am thankful for Jeremy and his willingness to be brave.”

Chatfield and her family were fleeing Paradise, California, an area that has been nearly completely wiped off the map by the devastating wildfires which have been active since July. She posted the video with the following explanation:

I feel very vulnerable posting this but I feel I should. My hometown of Paradise is on fire. My family is evacuated and safe. Not all my friends are safe. It’s very surreal. Things always work out, but the unknown is a little scary.

The fire which spread through Paradise is known as Camp Fire, located some 180 miles northeast of San Fransisco. Further south, another fire called the Woolsey Fire is causing similar catastrophic damage in the Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. It is estimated that the damage caused by the California wildfires is approaching $3 billion. Daily Caller reports the fires have consumed 6,713 structures and killed at least 23 people.

The death toll is expected to rise, as 110 people are currently missing. The containment effort has been unsuccessful at this point. The Camp Fire is considered about 25% contained, while the Woolsey fire is only 10% contained.

Since releasing her video, Chatfield has posted an update:

We are overwhelmed by all your heartfelt responses and prayers. There are so many wonderful people in this world. I would love to respond to each of you. We are astonished at the outpouring of love. Paradise has been destroyed. Thousands of us have lost our homes. Many have lost everything, including their lives. But, there are are so many stories of heroism, bravey and service, so much good comes from bad.

We had no idea this video would touch so many others. Although my family lost our home and business, we are in need of nothing, just love and prayers. There are so many that have absolutely nothing and need help. Any money made by licensing this video will go to others.
