We turn our hearts to Our Lady, praying today for all those who were unable to say good-bye to their loved ones.

During the month of May, the Church around the world is joining in a daily Rosary for the intention of the end of the pandemic, as well as a specific intention related to the various victims of the virus.

Each day of the month, a different shrine will lead the daily Rosary, according to local practice.

The beginning and the end of the Rosary Marathon (May 1 and May 31) are led by Pope Francis.

See below to follow the list of the Shrines.

Day 2 of the Rosary Marathon brings us to Nigeria to Elele, and the National Pilgrimage Center of Eucharistic Adoration and Special Marian Devotion.

In southern Nigeria, this complex was established in 1985 by a priest of the Holy Ghost congregation, Fr. Emmanuel M.P. Edeh.

The center holds a pilgrimage week in the first week of each month, which brings faithful from around Nigeria and the globe.

There are day and midnight Masses, testimonies, and inspirational talks from Father Edeh and other priests.

The pilgrimage center is supported by four religious orders: an order of sisters, priests, contemplative monks and contemplative nuns.

The center is a base for a host of ministries, geared both toward social reconciliation and individual needs. Here, they attend the sick, orphans, mentally ill, the poor, victims of trauma and conflict and those with special prayer requests.

The complex also has a unique museum where people leave voodoo objects or other charms that they have cast aside in favor of embracing the Christian faith more fully.
