Inspired by the beauty of God's Word, two Christian college students came up with a contemporary way to share the Bible with the next generation.

Do you ever wish you read the Bible more often? It’s common to feel this way, and a new edition of the Bible may help you make it happen.

This beautifully designed Bible is a feast for the eyes, making it easier than ever to “take up and read.”

Alabaster Co. has released new editions of the Bible accompanied with gorgeous visual imagery and careful craftsmanship.

“We knew that the story of God was beautiful, and we wanted to create a beautiful reading experience,” says the Alabaster Co. website

We believe beauty matters in our understanding of who God is … We strive to make products that help bring forth beauty in the world.

Or to put it another way, “What would the Bible look like if it were designed today?”

Soothing photos and thoughtful design

Each of the books seems to radiate God’s peace in its soothing photos and thoughtful design.

The modern, elegant books fit perfectly with the design sensibilities of millennials and Gen Z, so they’d be a great gift for the young people in your life.

But they’re really perfect for anyone who wants to read the Bible more. Instead of squinting your eyes at tiny verses in an enormous tome, you can enjoy a fresh and visually appealing spread of God’s Word in a slim volume.

The books’ layout is “inspired by white space, intentionally placed typography, and unique original photography.”

Meet Brian and Bryan

The story behind Alabaster adds a special meaning too. Two Christian college students had the idea to create the books as a way of spreading their faith to the next generation.

Alabaster is the brainchild of two young publishers, Brian Chung and Bryan Ye-Chung. It all began when the two Brians met at USC. Aside from sharing similar names and their participation in campus ministry, they realized their generation needed a modern way to visually appreciate the ancient text of the Bible. The goal was to spark fresh conversations and encourage people of faith to enjoy the teachings in a visually-pleasing art form.

The two carefully transformed individual books of the Bible into gorgeous visual content using the New Living Translation. For those who prefer a more traditional translation, Alabaster also has special edition Bibles in the King James Version, English Standard Version, and New International Version.

Environmentally friendly

Alabaster Co. also puts sustainability as the forefront, in keeping with the biblical call to be stewards of God's creation. The books are printed at Hemlock Printers, an environmentally friendly printing factory. Every book is 100% carbon neutral, and their packaging is made from 35% recycled materials and is 100% recyclable.

“Welcome to a new way to experience the word of God in our daily lives,” Alabaster says. Hopefully these delightful volumes can encourage us all to take a quiet moment for reflection, reading, and prayer.
