The president's remarks on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" come hours after an armed man was arrested at Justice Kavanaugh's house.

After an armed man was arrested and charged with the attempted murder of Justice Brett Kavanaugh, White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre said President Joe Biden “condemns the actions of this individual in the strongest terms and is grateful to law enforcement for quickly taking him into custody.”

"As the president has consistently made clear, public officials, including judges, must be able to do their jobs without concern for their personal safety or that of their families," she told reporters Wednesday afternoon. "Any violence, or threats of violence, or attempts to intimidate justices have no place in our society.”

Hours later, at the taping of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Biden did not speak out against the threat to Kavanaugh, but predicted a “mini revolution” if Roe v. Wade is overturned.

“I don’t think the country will stand for it,” said in the interview.

“There’s a whole range of things that are at stake here when we talk about eliminating Roe v. Wade,” Biden said. “It’s just ridiculous in my view.”

“It’s clear that if in fact the decision comes down the way it does, and these states impose the limitations they’re talking about, it’s going to cause a mini revolution and they’re going to vote a lot of these folks out of office,” Biden said.

On social media, Biden's remarks were seen by some as ill-timed, given the recent threat to Kavanaugh's life. The armed man had confessed to police that he was motivated in part by the leaked draft Supreme Court opinion that indicated that Roe v. Wade, the landmark ruling that legalized abortion nationwide, might be overturned.
