St. Vincent de Paul volunteers will actually come to your house and pick up your donations for you!

I’m in the midst of a move right now, luckily having found a home in a great community of Catholic mom friends. And while I'm profoundly grateful that God provided the perfect home for our family, the process of cleaning out our old house and packing it up just might do me in!

It’s really the worst part of moving, and there’s no way around it. With four little kids, we have so many piles of stuff to get rid of, from clothes and toys they’ve outgrown to things from our pre-kid life that we just don’t use anymore.

Of course, I don’t want to toss these things in a dumpster, especially as most are in good condition with plenty of use left in them. And somehow it always seems like there’s no time to take a big load of things to donate to a local thrift store.

So I was delighted to hear about a service that the St. Vincent de Paul Society offers in many major cities. Their volunteers will actually come to your house and pick up your donations for you!

You can schedule a free St. Vincent de Paul donation pickup right here. These are some of the locations that offer the donation pick-up service:

And St. Vincent de Paul Thrift accepts the following types of donations:

This donation pick-up service is a real godsend to anyone in the midst of a move. I’m definitely scheduling a pick-up soon!

It’s also very useful if you’re just cleaning out and reorganizing your home, or you’re in any other situation where you’ve got a lot of stuff to donate.

Hopefully this service can be really useful to you. I think it’s absolutely brilliant!
