This powerful song echoes the teachings of Pope Benedict XVI: "It is good that you exist."

Zack Williams has been down a hundred roads, and he’s sharing his faith experiences along with his exceptional vocals on his new album. We’d never heard of Williams before we put on “Heart of God,” the fourth song of his recently released album, A Hundred Highways, but this tremendous tune has made fans of us.

Only love

The song itself is powerful, but it’s made all the more poignant by an excellent albeit dark music video. Williams arrives at a motel where all the guests seem to be in one sort of pain or another. One person is depressed and considering suicide, another is grappling with loneliness, and there is one more who seems to be in a broken relationship.

The characters each seem as though they might succumb to their grief, but in that moment they are saved by support from one another. In one touching moment, Williams slips a note under the door of the man contemplating self-harm and that recognition, that small kindness is enough to make a difference.

The entire song and video relate the positive impact that can be made by supporting one another and loving our neighbors as we do Christ. In this sense, the song follows the spirit of Pope Benedict XVI’s guidance: “It is good that you exist.”

In an explanation video, featured below, Williams explains that “Heart of God” was written from his own experiences as a musician on the road. The artist explained:
