The arrangement will provide the CPA with data on the behavioral effects of prayer, while co-developing new Catholic content for Hallow.

The #1 Catholic app in the App Store reached a major milestone when it announced 100 million prayers completed, earlier this year. Now, it has marked another, after officially partnering with a group of medical professionals. Hallow is now partnered with the Catholic Psychotherapy Association (CPA), a move that will solidify Hallow as the intersection between spirituality and mental health.

Partnership

Hallow made the announcement from its website on November 21. The app-makers explained that the partnership will provide the CPA with research data on the behavioral effects on prayer, while Hallow will co-develop new content with industry experts

Matt Moleski, Executive Director of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association, who noted that the CPA is currently celebrating its 20-year-anniversary, hailed the new arrangement. He said:

“The inclusion of Hallow Plus as a free member benefit underscores the importance of prayer in our daily lives as Catholic mental health professionals. Building upon that prayerful foundation,” he continued, “this partnership unlocks the ability for CPA members to actively engage in the advancement of our mission and meaningfully contribute their expertise to the development of content and research that can help address the mental health challenges facing millions of Catholics across the globe.”

The partnership will give all members of the CPA access to Hallow Plus, the app’s premium subscription service, which has over 5,000 audio-guided prayers and meditations in thier archive. These include daily prayers, talks and exercises on combating addictions, content on building healthy relationships, reflections on overcoming emotional wounds, prayers for handling stress, and much more. New content

In the announcement, Hallow noted that the new content co-developed through the partnership will be faith-centric in its approach to social and mental health. The new offerings will be a mix of “experimental and educational content” that will be exclusively available on Hallow. Hallow co-founder Alessandro DiSanto said of the partnership:

“In a world that is increasingly dominated by stress, anxiety, and a general sense of chaos, we could not be more excited to partner with the CPA in their development and promotion of mental health practices centered on an authentically Christian conception of living a full and fulfilled life. Christ encourages us, ‘Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.’ (Mt 11:28) Our hope with this partnership is to bring that message to as many people as possible, especially those currently suffering from mental health issues and those ministering to them.”

The CPA is expected to use its Hallow-sourced data to create a new study seeking to advance research into the behavioral effects of prayer and other spiritual practices on both mental and spiritual health. Their findings will be reviewed for publication in Integratus, the Journal of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association.
