Annie Stowe saw the opportunity of her team's Super Bowl win to do some good in her community.

The jubilation of Kansas City Chiefs fans has had an unexpected impact for a local school in Kansas, thanks to the generosity of one kind-hearted local.

After the Chief’s recent Super Bowl victory, Annie Stowe, the owner of Annie’s Barn, made up some yard signs in support of the winners. Unsurprisingly, the signs proved a big hit with fans and sold like hotcakes.

“On Wednesday, 100 yard signs showed up and those vanished like in seconds,” Stowe shared with Kake.com, adding, “It was like one day, 24 hours, I was out of yard signs.”

So, the entrepreneur from Overland Park, Kansas, ordered another 400.

Yet, Stowe decided that she wanted to do something worthwhile with the profits, so she contacted the local Pawnee Elementary.

“I called them, and I said, I’m thinking I got $500 and I’m going to pay off those school lunches. Right? And they’re like, no, actually $2,000 is our total, but we’d love to have anything you can donate," shared Stowe.

As the total debt was higher than the amount of money she had to donate, she turned to social media. She explained what she was trying to do, and within hours people had donated enough money to cover all the debt. In fact, so much so, the contributions by generous community members has enabled Stowe to pay off the debts of two other schools in the area, and relieve the pressure from countless families.

The schools were thrilled with the kindness of Stowe and those who’ve donated to such a worthy cause. And this has encouraged Stowe to think about making this “Out of the Red Friday” – as she calls it – an annual tradition.

While it’s so unfortunate that these lunch debts exist in the first place, the kindness of people like Stowe reminds us that we can use our triumphs in life to help others.
