Katolicka Agencja Informacyjna is the largest religious news agency in Central and Eastern Europe. In the Polish media market, it is the primary source of information about the Catholic Church for journalists. KAI was established in 1993 by the Polish Bishops' Conference as a response to the crisis of Church-media relations that followed the historic events of 1989.
