DUPREE’s latest single elevates Christian pop music

A fun tune with a lively energy that deserves radio play.

DUPREE is back with another excellent release in 2021. Their new single “Can You Feel It (Change Gonna Come)” arrives hot on the heels of their February 2021 album Never Forget. The mother/son duo must have never left the recording studio as they take their efforts to borderline prolific.

“Can You Feel It (Change Gonna Come)” is a bouncing pop tune that keeps an energetic and joyful atmosphere throughout. The fun three minutes of Christian listening follows in the footsteps of Never Forget, but is distinct in its purely pop tones. This is perhaps most noticeable in their departure from traditional percussion in favor of hand-claps and finger-snaps.

The whole song has a lighter feeling than their previous releases. Even in the guitar solo, Dylan Dupree takes a more subdued approach. Displaying a wisdom of musical forethought far beyond his years, Dylan crafts the solo to be more melodic than sensational. While it’s not as jaw-dropping as his bluesy shredding, it works so well for this pop single.

Of the new song, DUPREE wrote in a press release:

DUPREE is a Christian pop/rock band that has been making waves in the Christian music scene. The creative minds behind the project are the mother and son duo, Lauren and Dylan Dupree. They write and record original music with the core message, “You Matter, You Belong.” This mantra has guided them through two successful albums.

Discovered by the band LFO at the age of 17, Dylan Dupree makes the band truly sensational with his exceptional skills on the guitar. With the touch of a more seasoned instrumentalist, Dylan’s solos have been compared to Hendrix, Van Halen and the like. These melodies and solos are made all the more vivid by Lauren's on-point vocals and layering.
