The Vatican is once again hosting an exhibition of handcrafted Nativity scenes inside St. Peter’s Square.
The fourth edition of "100 Nativity Scenes at the Vatican" features 126 crèches, created by artists from Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia and Croatia, and from other parts of the world, including Kazakhstan, Peru, Indonesia, Uruguay, Colombia and the United States.
Visitors are welcome to the free event, every day until January 9, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and no tickets are required.
Among the highlights of the exhibition are a Nativity scene on the front of a bus, created by the company Atac S.p.A., and a Nativity scene weighing 220 pounds and made entirely of chocolate, designed by the company Il Cioccolato dei Trappisti (Trappist Chocolate).
